FDDI Coaching Centre

The Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI) is a premier institute in India, established under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, with the mission to provide specialized education, training, and research in footwear, leather goods, fashion design, and allied sectors. Founded in 1986, FDDI has become a hub for developing skilled professionals with a combination of creative, technical, and managerial expertise, catering to the growing domestic and international fashion, footwear, and leather industries. With its focus on industry-oriented education, FDDI emphasizes both design innovation and practical skills, preparing students to meet professional challenges and excel in competitive environments.

FDDI has multiple campuses across India, including Noida, Chennai, Kolkata, Rohtak, and Chhindwara, equipped with modern studios, design labs, computer labs, material handling facilities, and advanced manufacturing workshops. These campuses provide a hands-on learning environment, allowing students to experiment with design concepts, work on prototypes, and develop real-world solutions under expert guidance. The institute also maintains strong linkages with the footwear, leather, and fashion industries, offering internships, live projects, and collaborative workshops to bridge the gap between education and professional practice.

The institute offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including the Bachelor of Design (B.Des) in Footwear & Accessories Design, Fashion Design, Leather Goods & Accessories Design, Fashion Communication, and Retail Fashion Management, as well as Master of Design (M.Des) and specialized PG Diploma courses. Admission to these programs is based on the FDDI Entrance Exam (FDDI-FIT/Design Test), which assesses candidates’ creativity, design aptitude, drawing skills, visualization, logical reasoning, general awareness, and technical understanding relevant to footwear, fashion, and leather product design. Some programs also consider portfolio submissions or skill-based assessments to ensure the selection of candidates with both creative potential and practical capability.

FDDI graduates enjoy a wide spectrum of career opportunities in areas such as footwear and leather product design, fashion design, merchandising, marketing, retail management, supply chain, design research, and entrepreneurship. Many alumni work with top domestic and international brands, luxury houses, design studios, and manufacturing companies, while others have successfully launched their own entrepreneurial ventures. FDDI also emphasizes innovation, sustainability, and social responsibility in design education, encouraging students to create products and solutions that are environmentally responsible and socially impactful.

With its legacy of excellence, cutting-edge infrastructure, industry collaborations, and focus on creativity and innovation, FDDI is recognized as the foremost institute for footwear, leather, and fashion design education in India, continuing to shape the next generation of skilled designers, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders.
